Wine Profile
The winery is located in the medieval village of Castle of Torre in Pietra. Its facilities were excavated into the tuff hill behind the Castle, a site already used in the 16th century for wine production and preservation.
In the 1930s, the property was acquired by Senator Luigi Albertini. After decontaminating the land, he established a dairy farm and strengthened viticultural activities by expanding the existing cellar and planting new vineyards.
The more than 52 hectares of vineyards are situated at an altitude of 50 meters above sea level, benefiting from a mild and breezy climate. Since 2000, viticulture has been practiced according to organic farming principles, meaning no chemical fertilizers or pesticides are used.
The Roma DOC blend aims to bring back the wine that was enjoyed in Roman taverns, reflecting the identity of wines that, from the same soft and sunny hills described in ancient Roman oenology texts, have been produced in this area for millennia.
