Grape Variety: 100 % Merlot
Aging: 8 months in oak
Region: San Rafael, Mendoza, Argentina
It tastes great alongside roasted foods like pork shoulder, roasted mushrooms or braised short ribs. Its fruit notes could be complemented with chimichurri sauce. Recommended temperature: 18°C (63-64°F).
The Roca family arrived from Spain and Italy in 1912. They settled in San Rafael and continued their tradition of cultivating vineyards. They mostly planted Malbec, which adapted really well to the region. The winery was built in 1905, and its original structure has been preserved up to this day.
Being located in San Rafael provides clear transparent water coming down from the Andes mountains on the south of Mendoza.
The wine has a ruby red color with tile shades. Its aroma is mainly fruity with notes of slightly ripe cherries, raspberries and strawberries combined with subtle notes of toasted oak. In the mouth, the wine is very harmonious, soft but with very creamy and elegant tannins present.
