Grape Variety: 100 % Malbec
Aging: 9 months in oak.
Region: San Rafael, Mendoza, Argentina
Lamb, mexican food, malbec doesn´t have a long finish, making it a great choice with leaner red meats and does wonders with melted blue cheese. Recommended temperature: 18°C (64°F).
The Roca family arrived from Spain and Italy in 1912. They settled in San Rafael and continued their tradition of cultivating vineyards. They mostly planted Malbec, which adapted really well to the region. The winery was built in 1905, and it’s original structure has been preserved up to this day.
Being located in San Rafael provides clear transparent water coming down from the Andes mountains on the south of Mendoza.
The wine has a vivid ruby red color. Its aroma is mainly fruity, with notes of plum, raspberries and some spicy floral notes like violets. In the mouth, the sweet tannins stand out, as they provide a smooth and unctuous texture, confirming the ripeness of the fruits.
