Viticulture and Vinification:
Harvest is mechanical at optimal maturity, the grapes are de-stemmed and crushed, sulfites are used on the harvest, traditional vinification is employed with alcoholic fermentation carried out between 26°C and 30°C, the wine is pumped over the mark with aeration twice a day, maceration lasts 15 to 21 days depending on the vintage, and refining takes place while cold during the winter, all under a "TERRA VITIS RESPONSIBLE" viticulture as independent winemakers.
Tasting Notes:
- Aromas: Dark fruit: Blackberry, blackcurrant, and black cherry are prominent. Spices: Black pepper, vanilla, and subtle notes of cocoa and truffle. Earthy: Some tasting notes mention hints of cedar, leather, or tobacco. Floral: A subtle floral touch is sometimes noted.
- Taste: Fruity: Black fruits dominate, with a juicy and well-defined character. Tannins: Silky, coated tannins create a smooth and balanced texture. Acidity: The wine's acidity keeps it fresh and lively. Finish: The finish is often described as harmonious, delicate, and persistent.
Pairing:
Allowing for a perfect pairing with all types of cooking, from the simplest to the most sophisticated, and from meat to fish, this wine's versatility lets it pair both with a charcuterie board and a flank steak, making it an excellent choice for everyday enjoyment that can be enjoyed all along the Atlantic coast, especially at the finest local tables from the Chartrons district to the oyster huts of the Arcachon Bassin.
Recommended Service Temperature: 14-16°C (57-60°F)
Wine Profile:
Located just a few kilometers from Bordeaux, Château Lauduc owes its development to the shared passion of its owners, Régis and Hervé Grandeau. The vineyard, which spans 94 hectares across seven communes, is situated on the highest clay-limestone and gravelly hillsides of Tresses. The vineyard is planted with noble grape varieties, including Merlot and Cabernet-Sauvignon, and is certified as High Environmental Value.
