Carménère is a very old variety from Bordeaux, France, that has many taste similarities to Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The herbal, peppercorn flavors in Carménère are a great embellishment to roast meats (from chicken to beef) and pretty much anything spiced with cumin. Recommended temperature: 12 -13°C (53 - 54°F)
The Italian family Cuneo founded Casas del Bosque in 1993. Located in Valle de Casablanca at 70km from Santiago and 30km from the Valparaiso port. The soils under the winery are volcanic in nature and were formed 110 million years ago under the Pacific Ocean. They are characterized by containing compounds of shallow red clay.
The wine has a deep red with garnet tones. Its aroma contains fruity notes, such as blackberries and plums, dried leaf notes, chocolate notes, spice notes, and toasted notes. Regarding taste and consistency, it is a soft and rounded wine with soft tannins and good persistence.
